Just before ‘The Chelsea Flower Show’ last year (2014) we had a visit from ‘The Great British Garden Revival’ this is the second series for BBC2.
They we’re doing a program on woodland plants.
Heuchera, Heucherella & Tiarella are just that, woodland plants.
The Heucheras we grow are hybrids from North American native Heucheras in the main.
We hold the National Collection of Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella to find out about National Collections take a look at this link.
When our camera/sound men arrived we had cake of course! Well it would be rude not too!
Then we got to work as we only had the crew there for 2 hours!! I say work but I love to talk about our plants so it was all good fun really 🙂
We love our summer house all year round great place to relax and have a coffee
I wandered round our garden and talked about how we manage to enjoy the garden when we are so busy.
Then we went onto our nursery to take a look around and of course the camera came too!
Its not the most glamorous little green house but its like an old friend, always there for us and well loved.
We grow all our own Heucheras and breed some varieties of our own too. Always looking for something different or improved. I think we managed it with these don’t you ?
Heuchera ‘Thomas’ TM (Fox Series)
Bred by us, named after our son has to be one of our favourites (well it just does doesn’t it ?)
Heuchera ‘Tangerine Wave’ TM (Fox Series) another variety bred by us (they filmed this but you never know what they are going to leave on the cutting room floor, when you do TV) This was one of the first varieties we launched from our breeding program.
Heuchera ‘Phoebes Blush’ TM (Fox Series) was our latest introduction just after the filming was completed at The Chelsea Flower Show back in May 2014
Phew! when all that was done we went to get ready for Chelsea Flower Show 2014
Its a hectic life!!
Keep an eye open for our New introductions from us throughout the year….We have a few great new varieties for 2015 from our breeding program, as well as lots of other new introductions from other breeders from around the world, we think you might like to see 🙂
Other Heucheras shown on the program were…
Heuchera ‘Lipstick’ below is a link to our blog on Heuchera ‘Lipstick’ we did a few days ago.
Bred by Janet Egger from Terra Nova Nurseries USA

Heuchera ‘Pear Crisp’ Great variety for shade bred by Janet Egger from Terra Nova Nurseries USA
Heuchera Coral Bouquet’ was shown on the program. This is one of the National Collection Heritage Heucheras’ that we are trying to bring back. It has green foliage but as you can see its not always about the foliage! We don’t know anyone who have this in their collections (well that haven’t had them from us anyway) This was in the Old National Collection from Mary Ramsdale (sadly no longer intact) it was down to the last one that we knew of when we first had it.
If you like our plants and nursery you can always come and see us at the shows or see us at the nursery on the Open Days (see website) or ring and make an appointment.
If you can’t do that, don’t forget we sell 1 litre plants that can go straight into your garden from our website.
Follow link below to find the plants that were on the program.
