Our Tiarella ‘Emerald Ellie’ Loved by the Bees

Bees absolutely love Heuchara, Heucherella and Tiarella. As bees are struggling a bit at the moment, it’s good to put plants in your garden that they love to help them out a little. In the video above is a bee loving our Tiarella ‘Emerald Ellie’. If every garden contained a range of bee friendly flowers, trees and shrubs we could all help reverse the decline of bees by giving them food and shelter.

It’s important to plant a variety of plants that will flower at different times of the year so the bees can visit your garden all year round. If you do wish to encourage bees in your garden, avoid using insecticides, especially while your plants are flowering. This kills off not only the pesky insects you don’t want, but also the pollinating ones such as bees.

RHS Tatton Park Show

We had a great time at RHS Tatton park, and gorgeous weather for most of it, it got a little sweltering at points! The heat didn’t stop people from stopping by all of the displays though, thank you to anyone who visited us and took home any plants.

We were super happy to find a Gold Medal on our stand Wednesday morning, what a great way to start off the show!

We also got some time to have a wander of the grounds and see some of the fantastic show gardens.

Getting Ready for RHS Tatton Park Show

tat1It’s been a busy week potting, packing, weeding and preening getting ready for RHS Tatton Park show. Taking place this week the 20th-24th. We arrived at Tatton to make some sense of this very odd shaped display that we have! We’ve made a bit of progress, but there’s still a lot to do! It’s shaping up to be a very nice display indeed and fun to have a different shape to work with.

Upcoming Flower Shows We Will Be At This Summer

Our next show coming up is RHS Tatton Park the 20th-24th July where you’ll be able to find us in the Floral Marquee. This is our local flower show so of course we love this show! Lots of horticulture and gardening for all plus lots of other things going on. A real celebration of Gardening.

We will be doing click and collect for this show, so if you’d like to save a bit on shipping use the click and collect option at checkout if you will be coming to the show.

After Tatton Park, we don’t have a lot of time to turn around and then get ready for RHS Hyde Hall Specialist Flower Show which is the 4th-8th of August in Essex. This show gets very packed, so top tip – try to get there early if you’re visiting.

We get a couple weeks to collect ourselves and catch up on nursery business before we are then off to the Southport Flower Show which is from 18th-21st August. A trip to the seaside and to gather all your garden needs in one place! Find us in the Floral Marquee.

Don’t forget you can use our click and collect on our website for orders to collect at this show to save on shipping, just choose the correct show option at checkout.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Show

It’s been another great week at another great show, RHS Hampton Court Palace. We’ve managed to add another Gold Medal to the collection which we are super proud of.
