How big are your pots that you ship plants in?

This question was asked by
Ann Inglis

How big are your pot sizes and how big are your plants? I want to buy a heuchera and a tiarella.

Hi Ann
All our plants are in either 1 litre or 9cm pots.
1 litres can be potted straight into the garden, some of the 9cm can too. Other 9cm need to be moved on to a bigger pot.
It tells you which are what size once you clink under the image for ‘more information where it gives you all the info you might need.

Trailing heuchellas in silver, purple and pink

This question was asked by
Jo Scott

Hi there
I have an ugly old retaining wall that I want to transform into a living wall. I would like to plant heucherella along the top of the wall – in the soil that is being retained if that makes sense! My colour scheme is purples, pinks, whites, silvers etc and i have a few purple heuchera already which I love – these don’t trail though. Would you have any trailing versions in the purple/grey colours that I could buy?
Many thanks
Jo

Hi Jo
Thank you for your email
At the moment we have glacier falls that has green with a silver cast and white flowers that would suit
However there is a new variety coming ready in July that is called heucherella Plum Cascade and that will trail too
Hope this helps

News for May

It’s come up on us quickly, but it’s already time for our next open days this weekend! Join us May 6th and 7th from 10-4 each day to pick out gifts or new plants for your garden, have a nosy around our small little garden, and as always enjoy some delicious home made cakes!

Many of you will probably know we pick a different charity to donate cake proceeds to every open day, and the charity cake proceeds go to this weekend is the Stroke Association as part of ‘Make May Purple’ You can find out more information on their website.

As some of you may know, Vicky’s Dad has passed away, so please be patient with us while we get all of our orders out and get back to people’s emails and messages. Many of you may have met him at shows and open days, so we just wanted to let you know of his passing. Dad was a highly respected horticultural figure, being in the business for over 60 years! Penstemon pentastic, was a variety Fred bred and and dad which we will soon have available for sale.

Dad amongst some of the begonias that he and Fred (my brother) bred during his 60 years career in horticulture.

Our next show is RHS Malvern Spring Festival from the 11th to the 14th May. If you are going to the show and want to save a bit on postage, we will be operating our ‘click and collect’ for this show, so make sure you get your orders in with plenty of time!

After that it’s RHS Chelsea Flower Show from the 23rd – 27th of May. We will be in the great pavilion and let you know our table number closer to the time. Some of you may have heard but we will be launching a new variety of Heuchera at the show! You’ll be able to order it after we officially release it at Chelsea.

As you can see, we have a lot to get ready for in May, it will fly by and all be over before we know it I’m sure. Here’s to an exciting month!
