Hello
We met you and bought some plants at the Flower Show at Harlow Carr.
I was reading in the latest RHS magazine that Heucheras are susceptible to Vine Weevil attack – do you find this so? If it is a fact when and how is it best to control this please? I have used the Provado product in the past, is this an acceptable treatment?

Heucheras and many other perennials and plants such as hostas, clematis, primula, geum , sedums, Astlibes, acers rhododendrans even bulbs such as cyclamen and house plants too are prone to the vine weevil
If treated regularly and a watchful eye is kept on all your perennials shrubs and climbers for first signs of damage or attack
It doesn’t need to be a huge worry

We find a hunt now and again especially in spring for the grubs and adults in summer helps
Also use nematodes at this time of year to catch them before they make a lot of damage. Nematodes can be watered on and kills the grubs these can be bought online and at garden centres
