Our Tiarella ‘Emerald Ellie’ Loved by the Bees

Bees absolutely love Heuchara, Heucherella and Tiarella. As bees are struggling a bit at the moment, it’s good to put plants in your garden that they love to help them out a little. In the video above is a bee loving our Tiarella ‘Emerald Ellie’. If every garden contained a range of bee friendly flowers, trees and shrubs we could all help reverse the decline of bees by giving them food and shelter.

It’s important to plant a variety of plants that will flower at different times of the year so the bees can visit your garden all year round. If you do wish to encourage bees in your garden, avoid using insecticides, especially while your plants are flowering. This kills off not only the pesky insects you don’t want, but also the pollinating ones such as bees.

RHS Tatton Park Show

We had a great time at RHS Tatton park, and gorgeous weather for most of it, it got a little sweltering at points! The heat didn’t stop people from stopping by all of the displays though, thank you to anyone who visited us and took home any plants.

We were super happy to find a Gold Medal on our stand Wednesday morning, what a great way to start off the show!

We also got some time to have a wander of the grounds and see some of the fantastic show gardens.

Getting Ready for RHS Tatton Park Show

tat1 It’s been a busy week potting, packing, weeding and preening getting ready for RHS Tatton Park show. Taking place this week the 20th-24th. We arrived at Tatton to make some sense of this very odd shaped display that we have! Our first thought was that it looks a bit like a ship. We’ve made a bit of progress, but there’s still a lot to do! It’s shaping up to be a very nice display indeed and fun to have a different shape to work with.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Setup

It’s been a busy last few days as we packed up the van and headed to Hampton Court Palace for their spectacular flower show. This is one of our favourite shows as there’s lots of gorgeous plants on display and for sale in a fabulous setting.

That’s the Plant Heritage up there in the top left photo. This time they are within the floral marquee instead of having their own marquee. Rosy & Rob (Hardys cottage garden plants) are next to us this year as you can see in the bottom right photo above.

We have a lot of lovely sales plants available this year, we had to make a couple trips to bring them all!
