Here are some more photos from this past weeks RHS Chelsea Flower Show. There were some stunning displays, and we are very proud to say we brought home a gold medal to add to our growing collection.
Phillip Johnson’s handmade poppy display. Almost 300,000 individually crocheted poppies made up the display made by around 50,000 contributors.
Very happy with our newest gold medal. It was great to see some of you at the show, thanks for supporting us!
For more photos of this years show, have a look at our last post as well.
It was a big change of display for us at the RHS Cardiff Flower Show, we had a go at educational (not like being at school we hope) with of few fun elements. Lots of useful information for all our customers and the public at the show about Heuchera, Heucherella & Tiarella.
When we arrived we had a lot of setting up to do!
We based our display around the most asked questions and to help demonstrate all the answers we have given over the years
We hope this means everyone will be able to grow great Heuchera Heucherella & Tiarella they are incredibly easy really.
We had canvases made for the show and were really pleased at how they came out.
Magnifying glasses show just how pretty the flowers are.
Two Tiarella showing what leaves need removing in spring to keep plants looking lovely and tidy.
Propagation
We were judged in a different category than normal…we put together the educational display to achieve a Lindley medal which was bit scary and unknown territory!! We were very proud and surprised to find out that we had gotten a Gold medal in the Floral Marquee awards. Not bad for our first go!
Thanks to everyone who came out, stopped by our display, and said hi at the event.
The days are getting longer, light levels are rising and I can’t wait to get into the garden , can you ?
I have planning what to do in it for months (probably won’t get much time in it but I can dream)
I look at the combinations used in our displays and ache for more time in the garden
You can create similar displays in your gardens very easily using heucheras
Luckily heucheras are fairy easy to grow and grow fast too
Making more time to sit and enjoy
They mix well with other plants. They are evergreen and very hardy
The colours are like they are taken from a painters pallet
There is always something for every position in the garden too.
RHS Wisley Spring Plant Fair Plantagogo selling lots of Heuchera, Heucherella & Tiarella.
Its a great start to the Spring gardening season
The marquees have a small and friendly atmosphere about them and of course great inspiration for all our gardens.
Loads of expert advise offer to help you get the right plant plant for the right place.

We love our summer house all year round great place to relax and have a coffee
Vicky from Plantagogo my favourites were being discussed here
I wandered round our garden and talked about how we manage to enjoy the garden when we are so busy.
Floyd making sure everything is coming up nicely in Plantagogos private garden.
Then we went onto our nursery to take a look around and of course the camera came too!
Its not the most glamorous little green house but its like an old friend, always there for us and well loved.
This propagation house is only tiny we have a larger one, but this has all the reserves for the National Collection which Plantagogo own.
We need lots of space to house the National Collection and our show plants
We grow all our own Heucheras and breed some varieties of our own too. Always looking for something different or improved. I think we managed it with these don’t you ?

Other Heucheras shown on the program were…
Heuchera ‘Lipstick’ below is a link to our blog on Heuchera ‘Lipstick’ we did a few days ago.

Heuchera ‘Pear Crisp’ Great variety for shade bred by Janet Egger from Terra Nova Nurseries USA
Heuchera ‘Pear Crisp’ fabulous lime green foliage great for a shady place in the garden.
Heuchera Coral Bouquet’ was shown on the program. This is one of the National Collection Heritage Heucheras’ that we are trying to bring back. It has green foliage but as you can see its not always about the foliage! We don’t know anyone who have this in their collections (well that haven’t had them from us anyway) This was in the Old National Collection from Mary Ramsdale (sadly no longer intact) it was down to the last one that we knew of when we first had it.
Heuchera ‘Coral Bouquet’ a Heritage Heuchera from the National Collection.
