2018 Show Season Kicks off with Harrogate Spring Show

We always wonder how we get so quickly back to the show season every year, but here we are! This week we kick off the season with Harrogate Spring Flower show from the 26th-29th of April. This year we will be doing a different display, one that’s based on customer questions that we get asked from you!

Shortly after Harrogate, we have Malvern Spring Festival the 10th-13th of May. If you’re going and want to make sure you get the plants you want, you can use our ‘click and collect’ service to save a bit on postage. We will be taking plenty of plants to have a browse of if you’re not sure which to add to your garden yet.

Auricula ‘Lucy Locket’ goes really well with Heucheras and is quite hardy, helping to add a splash of sunshine to your garden if you’re looking for something a little different.

We have all our fingers crossed the weather stays nice like it has been for everyone attending the upcoming shows. If you want a list of all the shows we will be at this year, you can check our 2018 calendar events page.

We love seeing our lovely customers, so do pop by and say hi if you attend any shows!

Tidying up your Heucheras

Now is the time to clean up those old heucheras! I did mine this weekend and while they don’t look great now, they will soon!

Here’s what I do – Get out as much chaff and old leaves as you can, without damaging any new shoots. Make sure to clean off old compost and decomposing leaves around the container.
This lets light into the crown, then the plant can rejuvenate and grow.

Then you need to top dress with compost and a bit of slow release feed mixed in, making sure you don’t bury the crown. Then water with a seaweed based feed to give them a boost it get them growing

Does the red sea Heuchera have flowers? I only ask because in the lead write up on your website it doesn’t mention them, talks about foliage only

Thank you

Can you take an order for plants not available?

This question was asked by
Marguerite C

Hello Vicki and Richard,
was wondering if you would be prepared to take an order for your Heuchera “Lime
Blondie” and send it to me when the plants become available. I need 15 plants, as it is just the thing to edge my
new border. If this is possible?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
Marguerite Clark.

PS. I find your web shop really super, and wonder how on earth you manage it all.

Hi Margarit
Thank you for your email
I am sorry we no longer take orders for plants that are not ready
It’s a case of a few people spoiling it for the many
We used to do it. If anything went wrong people got so cross with us… we decided not to do it any more.
It was at that point we started the ‘tell me when ready’ button ….all you do is pop you email on the list and when i make the plants available to buy you will be sent an email
Just remember everyone else gets sent an email who wanted them too
So dont wait too long or else they all get snapped up again

Pleased your enjoying the website
Hope this helps

Kind regards
Vicky
