When should I plant my Heuchera?

This question was asked by
Ruth Powell

Can I plant heuchera in late summer or should I wait until spring. I live near Manchester and the garden faces south west.

Hi Ruth
Yes you can plant nearly all year round
Heuchera aren’t fussy
Just remember to water them occasionally if it goes very hot
Hope this helps
Thank you for your question
Kind regards

How many trailing Heucheras are available?

This question was asked by
Sylvia Williams

Hello, is Solar Eclipse a trailing variety?
How many trailing Heucheras are there?
Kind regards.
Sylvia.

Hi Sylvia
Solar eclipse and solar power are cascading, but not trailing
This means they cascade over in a pot a few inches but not trailing like the full trailers who have feet of trailing foliage.
We have quite a few trailing heucherella and tiarella
Anything that ends in falls, trails or cascade tend to come over the pots
Such as:
Yellowstone falls
Redstone falls
Sunrise falls
Copper cascade
Gold cascade
Cascade Dawn
Then tiarellas
Happy trails
Appalachian trail
Cascade creeper
Jeepers creeper
Etc
Hope this helps
Thank you for your question
Kind regards
Vicky

RHS Tatton Park 2017

We always love coming to RHS Tatton Park flower show as it’s not that far away from our nursery, and it’s in a really lovely setting. We always love seeing the difference between blank spaces filling up with scaffolding, stands and what not ready for nurseries to transform them into show displays. So here’s a few before photos and our finished display.

We’ve got a little break now to sort out mail orders, clean up our plants in the nursery, and make sure everything is in top shape.

It’s hard to believe there’s only a few shows left for this year! Coming up we have Southport Flower show the 17th-20th August, Wisley Autumn show 5th-10th of September, Harrogate Autumn show 15th-17th of September, and Malvern Autumn show the 23rd-24th September. The fall shows are great to add some brightly coloured autumnal plants to your garden.

We then have our last nursery open days 29th September-1st October where you can come stock up on plants, have a chat about all things gardening, and enjoy some delicious homemade cakes.

We look forward to seeing some of you the next couple of months!

RHS Hampton Court Palace 2017

We had some gorgeous weather this year at RHS Hampton Court Palace. The atmosphere was buzzing and we had some great laughs with friends.

Here’s some photos of setting up, our display, and a few from around the grounds as well.

A healthy lunch in between planting!

We got another gold to add to our growing collection, always nice to see all the stress and hard work paying off!

I was on the potting bench posters dotted about the grounds, which I was on most days, only missing one out. These are great to go to at the shows as lots of industry experts talk about how to get the best out of your plants and potting tips and tricks.

Richard having a picnic and bubbly with Dan Heims Kelly Norris at the the Rhs Hampton gala night.
We did ask customers and other exhibitors to join us!

As usual there were some stunning creative art installations and show gardens. Have a look at out Facebook page to see even more photos from the show. We always put them up as we go along, as long as time permits of course!
