First Gardening Talk for 2019

We had our first talk of the year over the weekend in a pretty village with a super lovely group.

Our plants are looking pretty as well, with a great colour on them for March!

We are available for talks only in March now, so please contact us to book in for next year! If you want to know more about our plants or buy anything, you can book in for a nursery visit. Email us to check availability info@plantagogo.com

If you are interested in hosting a talk with us, you can enquire when we may be free to work with you. They last for approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour (nearly always 1 hour unless requested otherwise) depending on what you require.

Talks given usually include photos and other props, and a short powerpoint presentation. We bring all our own equipment but if you do have a screen that saves us carrying ours please do let us know! (they are quite bulky).

Plants that are currently ready for their new homes

With the nature of our business, we often have plants come quickly into stock and go back out again, or we may only have a select few for sale. We try our best to let you know what is available.

At the moment, we have lots of Heuchera ‘Sweet Caroline’ with beautiful large salmon-pink flowers over lemon and lime foliage in Spring and Summer foliage changing to lime green later in summer then to lime with silver cast in Autumn and Winter.

Heuchera ‘Violet Shimmer’ TM ( Fox Series) was lunched last year at Chelsea flowers show, and we have quite a few in the nursery ready for your garden! In the Spring, it has deep violet foliage with a shimmer, which as the leaf grows becomes more silvered keeping a violet shimmer through early Summer, by mid Summer/Autumn it is very silvery foliage, dark veins, slightly ruffled, with a purple underside. We named this one after Richards Mum!

We have ONE Heuchera ‘Midnight Rose’ left, so if you’ve had your eye on this one, now is the time to grab it! It has really unusual and pretty pink polka dots cover on the shiny plum foliage in Spring with a neat habit.

If you ever see a plant that is out of stock that you are really interested in, just send us an email and we can let you know if it may be coming back soon. We can also grow to order!

Southport Flower Show 2018

This year at the Southport flower show we tried something else inside the flower marquee for our display, we’ve done similar ones when we’ve been located outside before. It paid off as we were rewarded with a new gold medal to add to our growing collection. It was a fab weekend with lots of amazing exhibitors.

Heucherella ‘Cracked Ice’ went down well, with it’s pretty foliage changing colours with the seasons it’s a great addition to any garden. In the summer it is a blue/green, while in the spring and autumn it gets a lovely silvery pink overlay.

Our next show is RHS Wisley the 4th-9th September, and after that will be Harrogate Autumn show September 14th-16th, we have our click and collect offer going for both shows, so if you’re thinking of ordering plants and will be attending the show, you’ve got a couple weeks to decide.

RHS Hyde Hall Flower Show 2018

RHS Hyde Hall just seems to grow bigger ever year! It’s much bigger than it used to be, more to see, more to do, and of course more plants to buy! With the heatwave we’ve been having we had fantastic blue skies and heat the whole show.

Lucky for us Heuchera, Heucherella and Tiarella are drought tolerant plants, they are hardy evergreens and do ok with little water. A little water goes a long way with them and they can withstand dry periods.

We brought along some fabulous Kniphofia as well, “Pineapple popsicle” a vibrant yellow, and “Redhot popsicle” with cinnamon red flowers.
